It's not "click strategy" they are shifting away from, that is an extreme oversimplification which does not address the issue. They are altering the fundamental balance of macro/micro by automating what used to be crucial macro tasks, thereby reducing the need to divide your attention between macro and micro. That is a problem - a large part of what gave starcraft its addicting feeling of play was the fact that you had to decide at any given moment whether macro or micro was more needed, and while you did one the other suffered, making where to devote your attention at any given moment a crucial part of the game strategy. If you have ever played starcraft you know this is true. I don't know how you can imagine starcraft being starcraft without that feeling. It might be fun but it would be a different RTS without the feeling of play that made the original the greatest RTS of all time. Dumb move.
