The SuperFetch feature keeps your most commonly used files in memory, so don't be afraid when your favorite programs open instantaneously. Let's not forget the massively improved networking support. Vista has DirectX 10. Vista has many advantages. The whole of the TCP/IP mask was rewriten and communications are faster. It also looks much better than XP and is safer. Another advantage is that microsoft wants you to use Windows Vista and not XP, so updates and security issues will be addressed first in vista and then on XP. Internal search, bitlocker drive encryption, flip 3d/aero interface, parental controls, integrated image software, multilanguage user interface. Im not saying its better then XP, but I suggest you get used to it, and learn to make it work, because Windows 7 wont be that far off from Vista either.
