A lot of people may not realize it, but Sweden went through the same situation we did over 10 years ago. It was even caused by the same thing (too much financial deregulation led to a housing bubble that popped and killed their economy). Huge deregulation in the financial sector has always been a bad thing, the goons in the financial arena are all about money and they will take advantage of anything they can to get ahead. Anyways, I really agree more with the Swede's solution than our current 'lets just bail them out without getting any equity back' idea. We really should demand equity in return along with the bailout instead of them just getting to sell off their ****tiest assets. The banks shouldn't be flat out rewarded for causing this situation.
