Press the capture button and saves the screen shot in png format for you wherever you choose. I personally hate opening paint every time I need to take a screen shot.

An even better app would be one where you hold the ctrl key and highlight what you actually need, which is then saved as a .jpg
Ubuntu has that feature and it saves a lot of time.

Snipping Tool
Windows Vista comes with a little app that can capture small areas and// or full screen. Its pretty simple and its already installed so thats what I use
