Ever had a cool idea for a video game, or a way to make an existing genre better? Post them here! I'd love to hear input on how I could make my own game project more appealing.

I myself have always wanted to play a war game from the perspective of a Japanese soldier. Maybe a WWII game.

I started typing out a reallly long plan that I've had for a game for years and then accidently hit F5 and lost it. I'm not sure what I'd have actually gotten out of it by typing it here, I just like talking about it.

But, about the genre subversion. I'd like to see an MMO where you're actually aiming your attacks and spells, not even with a crosshair -- they just go in a straight line so not only do you have to focus on hitting your target, but dodging incoming spells and attacks too.

I want an RTS game where you can switch from FPS to RTS on the fly. Just be playing a regular game (like starcraft for example) and then press F3 (or something); let's say you have a marine selected, you're suddenly in the perspective of the marine and raping zerglings first hand. If you're the other player, then a little bubble shows up above the players name who is in control of the marine. You get a different weapon or something for each unit you switch perspectives to. You could see the little marine jumping around from the RTS view

Gawd that would be so ****ing awesome.

Edit: The game would be HUGE, you'd have to code two versions of everything.

XGhozt: awesome idea... kinda like C&C Renegade meets Dungeon Keeper (where you could look through the eyes of your monsters, and chickens, and things)... very cool.

actually it's pretty much exactly like dungeon keeper since it's an RTS and you could take control of any creature and use it's attacks/spells/skills.
