Azureus is annoying, you have to go in and manually change all the settings from the defaults if you want any speed.

Azu, who is arguing? No one. I'm just explaining why BitTorrent isn't suitable to use for ADSL users.

BloodyBlade, you are becoming obsessed with this. Why are you so eager to have me prove that sharing decreases my download speed?
As for proving my intelligence: I'm not a computer hardware technician so I disclaim any technical intelligence about ADSL and the like. I'm only familiar with the basics, I only care what I need to know in order to have a modem that works.
I already linked you to Wikipedia, and advised to find a way to use ADSL to see for yourself.

Whether you believe me or not does not affect me in the least. You can tell me my car will only run for 30 KM, then I tell you that you're wrong, my car can run for 100,000 more KM. You can keep insisting that I'm wrong, yet still I've been driving to work for a week without problems.

In simple terms: your beliefs will not make my car crash the next day.

So to end this: just try out ADSL yourself. See if any Internet Cafes have it, or a friend etc. or you can come to Holland, and I'll prove it to you myself :p

hm, azu is sorta right, i got adsl2, its a 24 meg conection with 4 meg upload but when im using torrent its all good, the second someone is downloading from me i see a HUGE decrease in performance. Really huge to the point where bwhacks and other sites time out.

I have ADSL too, but my bandwidth never tops oput becuase i'm smart enough to cap my upload/downlaod rates to something reasonable. I'd wait the extra couple hours for the extra security.
