Who wants to be president when you can be an iron-fisted totalitarian emporer of all that you survey in the universe? Naturally, in such a system you must assume that the only way for one dynasty to replace another is that the prior dynasty must either die-out or be exterminated in a vicious, bloody coup d'état by the new dynasty.
