It's not a true quad core, it's 2 dual cores, 2 L2 caches and so it'll only be capable of 2 simultaneous calculations at the same time.
AMD's had their quad cores out for a while too. They have 4 individual cores, with 4 L2 caches and an L3 cache on top of those. |

Thats one of the stupidest things you've ever said. Dualcores are twice if not four times faster than single core processors. The BUS speed is what matters. Lets say you have a single core Processor at 3.2 Ghz. Then you have a Dualcore processor at 2.3 Ghz. The 2.3 Ghz computer will run twice as fast than the Pentium 4. Taking a closer look you can see that the BUS Speed on the P4 is 166 x 6 or 633 or 533 and the Core 2 Duo, is 1033.
Something like that. http://www.ghoztcraft.net/Uploader/files/1/cpuz.htm Compare for yourself: http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-140.zip Edit2: http://www.ghoztcraft.net/Uploader/files/1/cpuz2.htm ^ My other ****ty computer. Last edited by XGhozt : 06-22-2007 at 12:38 AM. |
