Aren't there lots of new file-sharing and P2P protocols being developed all the time? Only a few of these actually become mainstream.

The main point of TPB is to create a protocol similar, yet independent from BitTorrent.
However, there are far more greater networks, nowadays.

The entire point for this is because BitTorrent Inc., the makers of the protocol that everyone uses, is close sourcing bits of it which isn't really acceptable at this point. Thus the need for a new protocol.

A friend recently hooked me up with this: Alliance P2P - Secure file sharing or SourceForge.net: Alliance - Friend-2-friend network

Haven't tested it yet, but I'm going to do so today.

    I like torrents because they're web-searchable

I regularly play as YourOwner on USWEST.

There's been alot of talk about Waffles.fm aswell.
Most are saying this will be the one to replace OiNK; I haven't had the chance to scope it out yet, though.

And that's the way they should keep the tracker.
I remember the piggy being trashed up with more soft than music.
As for e-books, audiobooks and videos - I don't mind, as long as they're related musically (lessons, gigs, etc.)

Waffles is hosted by the same guy, so it surely will be the one to replace OiNK, unless someone exploits the current situation.
