Default SC Legacy shutting down hacking websites

Thought u guys would find this interesting:

"As the newest member of Starcraft Legacy, I have decided to make my presence known by publishing an editorial about the "little children" whom are blatantly posting Starcraft hacks on their websites. They continue to post these hacks even though they have been requested by Blizzard Entertainment to remove them on a number of occasions.

First, lets recap some Blizzard history. Some time ago Blizzard released a best selling game, Diablo. Diablo sold millions of copies and turned out to be one of the best games ever released. For a short time playing Diablo on Battle.net was glorious. Then the hacks came. When these hacks became known, Diablo went straight downhill. Gamers began to lose interest in Diablo due to all the cheating. The next major title for Blizzard was Starcraft. Like Diablo, StarCraft quickly earned the respect of the gaming community. The utopia of playing StarCraft as it was intended was quickly shattered as the hacks for StarCraft starting appearing just like they had for Diablo. In an effort to fight these hacks Blizzard made updates to patch over the hacks. The utopia was restored for a brief period of time before the hackers "fixed" their hacks to work with the latest patch. As the ultimate insult, there are still sites on the internet that publicly announce the availability of their hacks.</FONT>

Since Starcraft's release, many hack sites have come and gone thanks to Blizzard. They have gone as far as contacting a site's host and getting them shutdown. Recently however, a hack site has caught my attention. It's not so much a threat to Blizzard but a very pesky annoyance. Although Starfilez has been around for a short time, they are already attracting Blizzard's attention. Blizzard has contacted their host (Xoom) and had 2 out of their 6 mirror sites closed. The people running Starfilez seem to think that we want them to post these hacks on their site. The truth is we don't and we need to stop them. One thing that's especially funny is the act they believe they won't be shutdown. They proudly post this message at the top of their page:
"The File Site that can't be shutdown!"
There are many Starcraft hack sites present on the Internet. Like zerogamers or the ever-so-hated bwhacks. The difference is that Starfilez broadcasts their site's address in Battle.net chat rooms. Because of this, their hacks make the rounds of the Starcraft community quickly. Their disrespect for Blizzard and Battle.net astounds me. One thing that really gets to me is an image they have posted on their site. Starfilez took a Blizzard image and edited it to say "Blizzard Entertainment SUCK!" If they think Blizzard sucks then why do they bother making a website based on Blizzard merchandise. To think that they can actually "beat" Blizzard Entertainment on this issue is quite humorous. In an attempt to rationalize the posting of these hacks, Starfilez posted this message as their reason:
"If we didn't post hacks on our page, then bnet would linger with hackers that cheat for months before they finally get public, and bnet would not make a countermeasure for this problem."
If they believe that they are actually helping Blizzard in any way by posting hacks, they're wrong. There is no need to post hacks on your site. As soon as the hacks come out, people tell Blizzard about their hacks, so posting the hacks servers no purpose. If anything, you slow down Blizzard's progress. Starfilez seems to believe that they know what we want. A message they posted on their site says:
"Battle.net considered this site the largest threat in regards to cheating and hacks. So they keep telling us to remove the hacks from our site. They just killed one of our sites, but as you can see, we cannot be stopped. We have 6 fully-functional mirror sites! These sites are identical to this one so don't worry. This site can't be taken down!"
Starfilz actually thinks that people want their hacks. In reality, there is only a small majority of people out there who really want to cheat. Starfilz needs to open their eyes and realize what they are doing to Starcraft. They are in no way helping Blizzard or any Starcraft players.

In an attempt to Blacklist Starfilez and many other sites like them, send me feedback on this editorial so I may further this issue and we can try to shut them down. Blizzard already has a new target in their line of sight, the snakes' nest. Its the site where all the hacks come from and all the top hackers release their cheats. Starfilez just hosted them, THIS website is the one that CREATES them! Imagine, if this website was shutdown we wouldn't see any hacking for a long time and with your help we can crush it like a roach. As we speak our top members our doing what they can to disrupt the packaging of these hacking websites every few hours so they shut down temporarily, just to tick them off. Yet, they dont know what's in store for them once Blizzard knocks their door. We should try to rid the Starcraft community of these people as soon as possible."

I smell twoble...

Starfilez, never heard about it. Good idea this channel advertising though. We should work on something similar.

This has to be incredibly old, because Xoom hasn't been around since about 1999.

I saw the editorial, but I didn't see bwhacks or zerogamers on it.

Did you add that?

Well then. Let me just tell you all (primarily the web masters) that Blizzard is in fact contacting server hosts with some bull**** DMCA rubbish.

They already took down one of my mirrors, mother ****ers!

Here is the Cease and Desist letter one of my Mirrors got yesterday.

Quote:
Recently, we have received an increasing amount of feedback from our customers in regard to the probable copyright infringement of Diablo, Diablo II, Starcraft, Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition, Warcraft III and World of Warcraft products (each, a "Program") on the Internet. We here at Blizzard share the concerns that many gamers are voicing. In this regard, we have contacted one of your users in connection with the aforementioned site and the infringement of Blizzard intellectual property.
Full letter at IH4X.com.

yea.. what exactly is a "small majority"
if its the majority why call it small?

also its brilliant for them to name hacking sites by name, that only gives the hacking sites more traffic ;) why dont they just post working links?

here are some funny cached pages i found about my site these are really old though
