Well i hope my title dont look too much like a ad? Anyway let me get to typing.

There are some cell providers that have stuff like "my favs" and "my circle" type stuff where you can call some people as much as you want with unlimited minutes. They are so nice are they not?

Now there is a new google thing that is still in beta testing, they are allowing more users right now though, i tried to reserve a number yesterday and they gave me one today. Once you get a number you get ten invites for other people so share the luv.

Anyway the google "thing" is called GrandCentral Station (www.grandcentral.com) it allows you to make a number anywhere in the U.S. with any area code (except like 2 states) then that number will forward to your number (cell number) so people from other states can call you locally.

But of course we dont care about that. Set up a account then set your grandcentral number to your FAV5's or your MYCircle then go to grandcentral station and set the call id to always show your grandcentral number. So when anyone in the U.S. calls your grand central number it will get forwarded to your cell phone as one of your FAV5's or MyCircle people. Get it ? So it will be free minutes you can talk as much as you want in the day in the night just as long as they call you through this number.

For calling people for free its a little harder, you need to have the people call you and leave a message then you can call your grandcentral voicemail and use the callback feature to call them back, this works but it has obvious setbacks.

Another neat thing is you can put a button on your site so people can call you. All they do is put in their number, then they can call you. What will happen is grandcentral will call the caller first then connect them with you, so all numbers remain anonymous, that way you can turn it off if you want.

Is Grand Central still in BETA? I remember a few months ago I had to receive an invite.

Yes it is but like i said i clicked "reserve a number" and put my email and they sent me a invite the next day. this is what they said

Well ive got 10 invitations i want to save a few but anyone who wants a invitation call me via grandcentral and leave a msg with your email.

i would do this because after the beta thing it might not be free anymore

nope, it dont work in canada. I was originally looking for a free or inexpencive way to call people in the UK. it only works for people in the United States (at least you can only get a numer in the US area codes, or have it forward to US numbers)
