He is saying that if it was legal, all of the money, resources, and man power could be dedicated to a larger problem. Like shooting all the illegals that keep crossing the border.

Having said that, it still alters your mindset. How do you do an instant test to see if someone is to high to drive a vehicle? And you know damn well that all the pot heads out there would be doing the same thing the alcoholics do.

Exactly. Im not saying its good for you, or better then alcohol, even though in my opinion it is. But say someone with Perkins disease, or Crohns, or someone I know who has both and multiple other diseases stacked on each other. They'd feed him 3 hits of morphine, which does nothing but make him sicker. But when the nurse suggested he continues the illegal substance found in his blood stream, both her and the doctor, off the record suggested it is better. Its the only medicine Ive seen the guy take and be able to function, and not be curled up in a ball crying all day.

My town's way ahead of everyone. It's not legalized, it's just the cops here really don't care, as far as I can tell. Just go to one of the two major high schools.

We weren't comparing Heroin, Crack and Cocaine, the guy compared Cigarettes to Pot. What I said is completely true for that comparison.

You guys whine and bitch up a storm about not being able to smoke a psychoactive hallucinogen.
Yet you don't show the same enthusiasm for other laws that need to be changed, important laws, not 'legalize pot cause I got's ta get my buzz on' but constitution ruining laws.

Until all the whiny little stoner punks (IE alot of you guys) decided to care about something that actually matters then I will hate them, and all druggies for that matter, it just happens that Pot heads are the whiniest ones.

I have no problem with Pot at all, I used to smoke it for years till I grew out of it, and I don't really care if anyone else smokes it. I do however care about the huge deal people make out of it being illegal. All of that time and effort could be better spent smacking congress/supreme court/president around, and telling them that the **** they're doing is not right and is not what the American people want.

Neither is it a so-called gateway drug that'll lead you on to using stronger stuff. That's one of the more pernicious myths about it. Because it's illegal, however, using it does put you in touch at least with the fringes of a criminal underworld. Those people might try to draw you in to using hard stuff, but pot itself won't make you want to try anything stronger.

Bottom line for me:

There's no conceivable way to stop people from using it, and it's readily available to anyone who wants to it. I could buy it in the school yard a short walk from where I live. The only response that makes sense to me is legalize it and regulate it, the way the Dutch did.
