I think they're making it 3 CDs for people who don't have decent computers. It honestly took me longer to install CS:S from the five CD (not DVD) package it came in than it did for me to download and install the entire orange box.

It would be awesome if each CD / DVD is printed with T/P/Z.

Wow, I didn't realize how far they go to ensure their stuff will work on most computers. I mean, most everyone has a DVD drive nowadays.

He is right the game will be broken down to three cd's and they will be made for each race and each campaign will have on the order of 26-30 missions Slashdot | Starcraft 2 To Be a Trilogy

A group of 12 of my guildies went, unfortunately I didn't have enough money for the $700 ebay ticket + fun money so next year, hopefully. :(

I think you guys misunderstood the three CD thing.

They aren't putting the game starcraft 2 onto three CD's to install it.

They are making Star craft 2 into a trilogy of "episodes" similar to what Valve did with Half-Life 2.

There is going to be three episodes, each episode is going to have a different single player campaign. Each episode will be for a different race. Think of Starcraft 1 and BW where you played the single player campaign one race at a time. The difference is this time you dont get all three with one game, you have to buy them one at a time as they come out.

Allegedy the multiplayer is going to remain for the most part untouched throughout the trilogy. It's mostlly for single player purposes.
