Also, LOL @ patches so soon after release, which fix multiplayer invites and the main menu being sluggish - don't they test their games?

No they really don't anymore hypn. They are taking Ubisofts lead and releasing betas as the retail. The PC Game industry isn't dieing because of piracy its dieing because they want to kill it. Why? Consoles are FAR more profitable. If they just flat out killed their PC divisions there would be a consumer backlash and they know it.
LMAO@ this tho. I hope EA gets grilled about this one.

They probably figure it's easier (and "cheaper") to wait for players to find and report the bugs, than put together a beta-testing team to test for a few weeks. I'm a big Red Alert fan, but after playing Spore I'm not in a hurry to buy another EA product.

EA isn't a top game developer, simple as that. I didn't expect anything impressive or a lack of bugs. But them ****in' up the serial is just embarrassing, and telling their paying customers to guess between 36 different combinations is a bit ridiculous. There should be a patch to resolve that issue, maybe bypassing the 20th digit. They should fix their **** ups, we shouldn't have to.
Friend of mine got a 19 digit serial.

Well.. it is a STRATEGY game after all... so maybe figuring out the 20th character is part of the suspense? :| but you're right ScAreCroW, they should make a patch. Wonder how long it'll take before someone not employed by EA does - I would, but I haven't got the game yet.
