A boy of 15 collapsed and went into convulsions after playing the World of Warcraft computer game for 24 hours.


The boy had seven friends gathered at his house in Western Sweden on Saturday night to play the legendary video game.


'They played all day and all night,' his father told reporters.


The boys may have gotten a few hours sleep, but what little food they ate over the marathon session was eaten at their computers.


Then, at about 2pm on Sunday afternoon, the boy had what reports described as an epileptic seizure.

all I do is play games all day every day never had a problem like this. Just eat food and play games and you'll be fine.

I just couldn't help but think "rofl weaksauce" at this. Seriously, only 24 hours and this kid has a seizure.

I've played games for 72 hour straight (with long food/internet breaks but no sleep) and had no problems. It's pretty nice actually because you make a day or a weekend feel longer than it would have felt when you don't sleep. That's one of the best things about LAN parties.

**** I know alot of people that have gone longer then 24 hrs on a video game. just look at all these lan wars going on I went to one and didn't sleep for 3 days strait

Of course he was sick unless he didn't go to bathroom or drink water on top of not eating food. If he couldn't tell after a while that he needed a break to just relax than he shouldn't be allowed on a computer anyways.

That's ridiculous that the 'doctor' cites "too long a stretch of concentrated game playing" as one of the causes. If only the world didn't want to blame games for everything that goes wrong due to stupidity.

Next time I do something stupid, I'm blaming videogames. MAYBE THEN I'LL MAKE THE NEWS.

I call bull**** on that. You'd most likely go into a delirium and pass out long before a week could pass. 72 hours is completely probable given the nature of many people, especially people who do LAN's and post on forums, but the claim of going without sleep for a week, especially with alcohol, is complete and utter bull****.

Srsly kid, unless you're 12, don't try to look cool on the internet. It doesn't work.
