Anyone think there will be news on TPB if this happens and then they will start getting threats from Microsoft to stop telling people what is going on. Maybe Microsoft is really trying to take over the world and taxing news is one way to keep people uninformed :O

I don't mind ads, to a certain extent. Without ads, the internet would be completely different than it is now. 90%+ websites would have to remodel their whole plans, as they would have to rely on donations and selling actual products. I hope you guys realize this: Most websites are created with profit in mind! If there was no profit in mind, I'm sure sites like Digg, Google, YouTube, etc. wouldn't even exist. Even if it wasn't profit in mind, you still need a way to pay for hosting, don't you?

What bothers me is when people complain about simple Google ads. They're not even that obtrusive. If you're so disturbed by the ads, then get the f*ck off. You should be glad whoever owns the site even offers free content to you.

I, for one, support appropriate ads.

Ads aren't that bad, especially when they're so easy to block with thinks like Ad-Block. Plus, there's all the stuff lpx mentioned.
