The reason I committed suicide last night...
I am a different person today, but I have not changed. I have just opened my eyes. This is my first blog entry and I want to start getting everything down in writing, my thoughts, feelings, experiences, everything. I want people to know my outlook on life and I thought the best place to do it would be here on Facebook, with my family, friends and anyone else who has an open ear.
I am a firm Libertarian, and I decided that today. Before today, it has been kind of a tentative thing, however I realized that there is no way around it. People like to call Libertarians things like anarchists, rebels and the like however that just proves their ignorance.
I am tired of people telling me what I can/can't/won't/should/shouldn't do, it is just plain ****ing bull****. It really pisses me off when someone tells me I shouldn't drive without a license. "Oh, you have a family, you have responsibilities." blah blah ****ing blah. I have the right to do what I want, when I want, how I want, where I want, as long as I am not directly hurting someone else.
Last night I was driving out to my Dad's house to take him his gloves that he left at my apartment. Linkin Park came on and they are one of my favorite artists to speed to (I drive a 2007 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V, 200 Horsepower 2.5 Liter 4 Cylinders, racing clutch the whole 9 yards). I like to drive fast, and I do it all the time. I lost my license a couple years ago for unpaid speeding tickets, etc and since then it has been a downhill battle. I had $30,000+ in tickets at one point in time until a kind judge knocked that down to about $5,000 and I agreed to pay at least $50 to the Warrenton municipal court once a month and remain on bench probation.
Well, last month in December I had absolutely no money, extremely hard month for me. I went in and said that I won't be able to make my payment and asked if there were any other alternatives. The court clerk kindly told me that no, there were not. They don't allow community service hours because of liability, etc and it costs them too much money if I join work crew (wtf?).
A few days after Christmas I got a letter stating that a warrant had been issued for my arrest due to failure to uphold a court order to pay my fines. I went to the police station on 3 separate occasions to serve my warrant, and it took them until the second week of January to finally get the warrant into the police systems.
Continuing where I left off, I cranked up Linkin Park and pushed the accelerator down a little more. (btw, I am always planning what I am going to say to any cops who pull me over, it is part of the fun) I come around a really beautiful corner on Highway 30 (Near Svenson) and go right past a County Sheriff cruiser. I had 2 choices at that point, double-clutch down to 4 and take the hell off, or pull over and deal with the consequences of my actions. I chose the latter, I looked for a very nice area to pull off, and I shut the car off and waited there for about 30 seconds for the cop to catch up. He pulled up behind me and then turned his lights on.
He walks up to the car and says, "72 in a 55, what's the hurry?"
I replied, "I was going 80, I am on my way to my Dad's house because we got into an argument earlier and I am trying to beat him home to make sure he does not drink himself into a stupor like he did on Christmas."
Officer replies with the all too familiar and dreaded statement, "License, registration, proof of insurance please."
My reply, which I had been planning for the last 20 minutes, "Officer, I am going to be completely honest with you. I lost my license a couple years ago for speeding. You can take my car, impound it, write me tickets; I am okay with that. I am still going to drive without a license and speed. That is who I am, and that is what I like to do. I am a straight and narrow citizen, I don't do drugs, and I respect other people. I do not speed in residential, commercial, or densely populated areas. I do not break any other laws, and I am probably one of the most honest people you will meet in your entire life. I even pulled over and waited for you. [I described my car and what it was capable of]"
The officer then again replies, "Wow you are very honest, while you look for your registration and insurance I am going to run your ID."
The officer comes back to the car and says, "Mr. Rowland, could you please step out of the vehicle, I have something to talk to you about at my cruiser."
I replied, "I have a warrant ... don't I?"
Officer, "Yes"
Me, "Damn, I know what that's for."
In short, he didn't tow the car, he even locked it up for me, rolled up the window and turned the hazards on. We had a very nice conversation on the way to the jail, and I had a lot of fun with the intake guys at the jail. It was a pretty fun experience. I got booked and released, and I had Nina take me to the car so I could finish going to my Dad's house.
I drove the car to my Dad's house, and then home for the evening.
The point I am trying to make here is that I was not hurting anyone by speeding on an open highway. If the speed limit were 80 I would have been pulled over for impeding traffic. I feel as a person, I am extremely inhibited by society and what it dictates for me. Our government has way too much power, we pay way too many taxes and I feel that is the general concensus however not too many have the balls to speak up about it.
If you have time, check out the Libertarian's Facebook group, and their website. They are the third largest political group in the Nation. From their Facebook group, I am going to go over some of their views, and my interpretation of them to give you a better idea of what they are about.
We are not rebels, I should say, I am not a rebel, I am not trying to make a statement by speeding, or doing what I want. I am just simply doing what I am passionate about. I have a hard time keeping jobs because I am passionate about what I do, and I only do what I am passionate about. I can't stand going to a 9 to 5 job just to make money that society tells me I have to so that I can support someone who takes it for granted and does not ask questions about where it comes from.
The Department of Human Services (DHS) refer to themselves as "self-sufficiency" however I don't see how by handing someone food stamps, and TANIF (money to live on, welfare basically) you are teaching them anything except how to mooch off other people. I say, let them fend for themselves and they (or other people) will either help themselves, and get off their asses.
So anyway, sorry about the extra ranting, I just want to get it out. Let me tell you about Libertarians.
From their Facebook page:
"The Libertarian Party is America's third largest political party, founded in 1971 as an alternative to the two main political parties. Our vision is for a world in which all individuals can freely exercise the natural right of sole dominion over their own lives, liberty and property..."
Wow! That is a great starter for me, reading that what comes to mind is I can finally do what I want, when I want, how I want and if I want to be a poor low-life that has a lot of fun in life, then let me!!!
"* Foreign Policy: We support the maintenance of a sufficient military to defend the United States against aggression. The United States should both abandon its attempts to act as policeman for the world and avoid entangling alliances."
Yes, exactly. We only need a large enough military for self defense! Screw getting involved in other's affairs. We don't need to be the saviour of the world, people can handle their own battles, and if they can't it is their own problem. I know that sounds a bit harsh, but it's true and you know it and agree wholeheartedly. We need to worry about ourselves, it is hard enough to manage our own responsibilities, let alone taking on the weight of the world. You hear that Bush? Stop picking fights you ****ing *******!
"* Gun Laws: We affirm the right to keep and bear arms, and oppose the prosecution of individuals for exercising their rights of self-defense. We oppose all laws at any level of government requiring registration of, or restricting, the ownership, manufacture, or transfer or sale of firearms or ammunition. For the LP's amicus brief in the Heller Supreme Court case, visit http://www.abanet.org/publiced/preview/briefs/pdfs/07-08/07-290_RespondentAmCuLibertarianNtlCmtt.pdf"
If I want a ****ing gun, let me have a mother ****ing gun! I don't need to tell the government I have a gun, the only ones that register their guns are the non-criminals. I want to be able to defend myself against crazy *******s who already have an unregistered gun and are coming down off meth trying to rob me of everything for their next fix.
"* Healthcare: We favor restoring and reviving a free market health care system, and oppose any attempt by the government to regulate healthcare."
Let the hospitals charge what they want to charge, do what they want to do, as long as they are not harming anyone. Of course there will be hospitals that rape people financially, but there will also be hospitals that will be free or low-cost for the people who can afford them.
That actually reminded me of another topic, we live in a ****ing sue-happy world! What the ****? I think it should be illegal to sue someone, money is not a consequence, nor a reconciliation for the stupid **** that people sure for. I can understand if someone owes you money for a job you completed, like you remodeled their house, installed a pool and now they refuse to pay you. But to sue an electrical company for their son climbing an electrical tower and getting electrocuted? (
Michelle Malkin » Stupid lawsuit of the day) What the ****? For ****'s sake!
Reading some of those comments is great too. for example this one:
"We should put a fence around streets and have big signs warning of danger! Then sue the DOT if someone gets hit Im sorry kid but youve just become a poster boy, its really sad but dont monkey around power lines, dont talk to strangers and look both ways are all things that one must learn in order to pursue a healthy life."
And this one:
"Its all about money, and not the kid. Seems these days, everyone is looking for a way to get millions, regardless of circumstancesencouraged by poor lawyers who get 30%. We have so many lawyers now, suing is the only way to make any money. People are encouraged to sue, so it has now become a routine. I remember once, lawyers were illegal here in Virginia. People were so disgusted with them, they banned lawyers. We ought to look at that statute again."
Which leads me to another topic ... money! But that is covered later in this blog post.
We digress...
"* Privacy: We support the protections provided by the Fourth Amendment to be secure in our persons, homes, and property. The government should not engage in illegal surveillance of American citizens."
Oh my, another hot topic. Illegal planting of bugs, wire tapping, that whole 9 yards with no warrant or anything. Holy ****, am I not safe in my own home? Who can I trust to be honest if I can't even trust the government that is there to protect me, you hear that? Protect ME as a ****ing INDIVIDUAL ... I N D I V I D U A L - PROTECT ME!!! You can't very well ****ing protect me if you are busy worrying about my every last movement. Go out there and fight some real crime and LEAVE ME THE **** ALONE!
"* Social Security: Retirement planning is the responsibility of the individual, not the government. We favor replacing the current government-sponsored Social Security system with a private voluntary system."
What a ****ing failure right there, Social Security. I bet I won't ever see any of that money being taken out of my check right now. Let me ****ing save my own money if I want to, or better yet, let me spend it at the ****ing bar and have a drink while smoking my cigarette indoors if the owner of the establishment wants to allow people to smoke in their establishment!
