Legally Hack a Server

What kind of sh*t is this? Some desperate attempt to find out what script-kiddie can hack their site so they can attempt to protect against it. It will be a sad day when even a decent hacker will attempt to contest with others in a public competition.

i wouldnt trust them, once you hack there site your name and **** would probley got to the fbi or something and they will monitor your ass.

it just seems like a way to trap hackers, or script kiddies

Do they really think a skilled hacker will actually try to hack their site and risk being monitored or found out?

The organizers are idiots. Do they seriously think that anyone with the knowledge to hack the server will tell them how to do it for...an xbox? Such information can be sold for tens of thousands of dollars.

The reason why they don't want the good hackers to hack it is so they can use this contest as a selling point.

An xbox for something like this is a slap in the face.

Basically microsoft is saying, "Try to hack our server, if you can, tell us how you did it so we can fix the security hole and pretend like it never happened. We'll give you an Xbox to shut up."

Lets be serious, very skilled hackers could make thousands of dollars for jobs that would be much easier.
Anything is possible, and every Server OS has claimed it was "Unhackable" before release. Its just a matter of how much time its going to take to find the holes Microsoft has in ALL of its products.
