During the procedure blood is replaced with saline solution at a few degrees above zero. The dogs' body temperature drops to only 7C, compared with the usual 37C, inducing a state of hypothermia before death.

Although the animals are clinically dead, their tissues and organs are perfectly preserved.

Damaged blood vessels and tissues can then be repaired via surgery. The dogs are brought back to life by returning the blood to their bodies,giving them 100 per cent oxygen and applying electric shocks to restart their hearts.

Tests show they are perfectly normal, with no brain damage.

"The results are stunning. I think in 10 years we will be able to prevent death in a certain segment of those using this technology," said one US battlefield doctor.

Its insane and plain stupid. People have been dieing constantly for millions of years, just stopping it one day cant possible be good. Its best not to get in the Angel of Death's way.

DUDE THAT'S AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! But I agree with Iverson, we'll never be able to 'control' death, and it's DEFINATELY not good.

Wow thats pretty damn cool, can they like kill them perform surgery, and then bring them back? Thatd be pretty cool to have your dog hit by a car and mangled and then bring him back..

Eventually people would die from age and wont be able to come back, or would they just replace there parts? I wouldnt want to live forever, that would suck.

People have to die. It's the cycle of life. If you think about it for at least 3 seconds a million reasons became apparent as to why dieing is a necessary part of the circle of life.

Care to list a few of those reasons? Choosing a few in a pseudorandom fashion should be quite easy, considering the sheer quantity that you say is easy to contrive.
