I was over at a friends house earlier today when another comrade present began to read threads from some forum(not sure which one). This of course being the only guy who gave the game a 4/10 rating. We've been playing SSBM alot more lately and freakin' love that game. This thread, however, tried to poke fun at the game. "One button continuous combos, AI too easy..." Also complaining that a straight week is all it took to beat. What game can't be beat in a straight week?! Personally, I believe it is one of the best Gamecube games out there. It's not set in the "Tekken series" and "Street Fighter" style fighting and that is what makes it appealing. I just want to know what you guys think of SSBM.
Don't get meh wrong I enjoyed both Tekken and Street Fighter.

That game owns. But a week to beat it? I've beat it in less. Nice game if you got some people over as well.

Single-player is next to worthless, but it's multiplayer makes it IMO the best GameCube game of all time.

One of the best multiplayer games i've ever played. Me and my friends use to play it 10 hours straight then eat then playsome more, great game!!!

I prefer classic N64 SSB, ness owned ;)

I would own any and all on SSB original for N64 with Pikachu. Pokeman can really **** you up. I use Pikachu also on SSBM, but I don't play it as much because friends think that I will own them again with Pikachu, although there are more complicated combos and different buttons that I havn't gotten a feel for yet.

Yeah picca is awsome, so is kirby, link is a embarresment, and ness is number 1.

Trust me, Ness is nothing with the strategy I use. He's so easy to foil. I have my 14 year-old brother to thank for his fascination with Ness. He took control and owned anyone besides me with Ness, but still Ness is very exploitable, not saying that Pikachu is weak in his own way. I'm just never caught up with his weakness, you always have to stay on your toes with him, otherwise Pikachu will fail you.

Thats it, tonight im playing SSB on my n64 which is like gathered in the dust like my xbox...ps2.. and that dam dreamcast and oh yes good old nes.

Donkey Kong is one of the worst choices for an initial fighter. I would have your ass torn apart. I can beat you, it's no one that can beat me. I stand unopposed.

I've got a friend that rocks with Falco. He isn't godlike or anything, but when it comes to playing friends he's first 90% of the time. And another that used Samus, got really good with her, and changed to Peach and started stomping my ass. I personally grew quite a fancy to Sheik. I'm able to use her great speed/recovery rate to foil opponents and keep them airborn until that final air strike that sends them off screen to *inrecoverability*. Though lately I haven't been able to do near as much as I could. Explanation from friends, "You suck with Zelda, if you cannot utilize both characters to their best capacity you'll never be as good." The only problem with that is I've trained with Shiek for about 6 months, before I stopped. I think it's harder to train a 2 in 1 character than it is just one. Oh well... I'll win again sometime.

Yeah, Kirby used to be awesome, but they ****ed him up in SSBM. In SSB a good pickachu player can really **** Kirby up though, if he abuses that damned Down+B attack and some of the more acrobatic moves, which is why I used to train against 3 level 8 picas. I tried 9, couldn't do it.

I found Kirby to be a formidable opponent when played by the AI in SSB. I got too obsessed with this game, I'd end up putting an hour or so a day with the 3 Kirby's on Highest Difficulty just to keep in top form. Today, I still have these skills, but no one willing to go against me.

I've been told that attempting to fight the teamed Mario Bros.(Luigi and Mario not Dr. M) on lvl 9 is super dificil. I know one person that has done it and said that it's the best training he knows. Is it? or are there other combinations that can peak someones skill?

Yea, im starting to get pretty badass with peach Andrego.
I'm still looking for tournaments in the area...but all the major tournaments are in California and NewYork.
If anyone here at bwhacks lives in the state of missouri we should make our own tournament, because since its just three people that are good at this game in our small town its hard to attract attention.
