First off, this is my first tutorial, so forgive me if there are a couple of problems that you spot out.
Scan Lines: Scan lines can be used to add a new depth to images. Although it's a very simple procedure to apply the scan lines, quite a few begginers are unaware of how. In this tutorial, I'll show you the basic steps of putting together, and then applying the scan lines. 1. Open up photoshop and create a new image with a Height of 2 pixels, and a width of 1 pixel. Zoom in as far as you can. ![]() 2. Press "D" on your keyboard to turn the colors do default. Select the pencil and adjust the size to 1 pixel. 3. Click in the top pixel of the image with the pencil still selected. ![]() 4. Now go to Edit-->Define Pattern. Type Scan Lines in as the pattern name. ![]() 5. Open up a new image that you want to apply the scan lines to. ![]() 6. Press Shift+Ctrl+N to create a new layer, then select the new layer. 6. Go to Edit-->Fill. Under "Use:" select pattern. In the dropdown box below, select the newly created scan lines pattern. The opacity can be changed via the master opacity change in the layers window if you need the scan lines lighter or darker. ![]() 8. Congrats, you now know how to create scan lines! ![]() |

Okay before anyone comments...That is extremely useful. I don't know much about Photoshop so this helps a lot. I always wondered about that. Thanks =)

I originally signed up for the hacks
. I've been reading new posts for a couple of months and finally saw something that I could do to give back I guess. Besides, it helps me brush up on some of the things in PS as well. No problem uniquely, always nice to see some positive feedback. |
