Default Simple Masking

Here's how to use masking in text, if you didn't already know how to.
First, start off with a blank sheet. Fill your background with a color, if you'd like. Then make a shape or text object. Whatever you want to be masked. I made a text object.

Then create a new layer on top of this. When you do so, make sure you check the option "Use Previous Layer to Create Clipping Mask"

Then, in this layer, paste any picture you want to appear "inside" of the object. I just chose a shape with a gradient, but you can choose any picture, like, people for example.

Hopefully this can be somewhat useful. I don't know...
