OK i know there was a thread similar to this but i think this is more of a general question and should have its own thread, and if sucessfully answered, be added to Tips and Tricks or Just stickied.
Now i did alot of research on this topic and what i found so far has not worked -_- . I downloaded several programs. mkbt.exe http://www.nu2.nu/mkbt/ bfi.exe http://www.nu2.nu/bfi/ bbie.exe http://www.nu2.nu/bbie/ winimage http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homep...t/download.htm And i used Alcohol 120% (can use any virtual CD mounter) now mkbt.exe creates a .bin file of the boot sectors found on a Floppy Disk. Now you can use an actual floppy disk to get the boot sectors, but most newer computers (like mine) no longer come with floppy drives, so mkbt.exe can also extract boot sectors from floppy images. http://www.putergeek.com/downloads/popup_dos.htm is a bootable Dos floppy image. now by going into start>run>CMD i then use the CD .. command to get to the directory of where i saved mkbt.exe and then i ran it with the arguments C:\>mkbt -c DosFloppyimage.bin bootsect.bin (i put everything in the same directory to make life easier) Then, i formatted my USB stick with FAT, NOT FAT32 or NTFS (your using a floppy boot sector and that is for FAT) then i used mkbt to copy the boot sectors over again. C:\>mkbt -x bootsect.bin j: (J: is the location of my USB drive) then i copied over essential files off the dos disk image i downloaded using winimage. then i went into bios and changed boot priority from my hard drive being first, to my USB drive. then it says when i boot up "invalid system disk" so then i tried a different approach. i used mkbt.exe to create the bootimage again, then i used winimage to write the boot sectors to the USB stick. this time it says "system disk error . image made by winimage 2006 blahblah" then i tried to copy the boot sectors off of my miniPE disk image. first i mounted it to my virtual drive G:. Then I used bbie.exe with the arguments C:\>bbie.exe g: then i repeated the other steps once that was made. then i copied all the files off the image onto the drive and again. Invalid system disk. any suggestions/hints or idea's pertaining to this issue?

**** you minimum_ownage. i dont want to use linix you idiot. as i said i was making a dos bootable usb drive. so shut the **** up with your gay ass **** and go somewhere else.
gamepin i know that kinoppix and other small liniux distros are better then dos, but i want to start out with dos and get it working so i can eventually set up a multi boot on my USB drive since its 1gb and i will use it at peoples homes when i go their to fix their computers. I want DOS and Either MiniPE or Kinoppix
