Default Connecting to Internet...

I just finished building my new computer and installed windows, but for some reason it isn't connecting to the internet. When I plug the network cable into the computer both the lights come on, but the computer won't automatically connect. How do I set up the internet connection? (I use a router which connects to the cables in the walls where other computers are hooked up to). Thanks for any help.

Ah crap, what drivers? The motherboard came with a CD, but I think that was only a pdf. And its an integrated Network Adapter.

Yea loser, that CD has the drivers for most things, including Sound, USB 2.0 (sometimes), and LAN. Every system I've built I've had to instal these drivers. Also after instaling the drivers you may have to activate the LAN in the BIOS. I think it's in integreated peripherals.

Loser, devices require drivers to function properly in windows. Any hardware (even onboard) needs drivers.

Get online and go to the manufacturer's website for the newest drivers. The ones on the CD are likely outdated.

Also, don't forget to get all of your other drivers updated. Update your BIOS too.
