Vista really does suck

so i downgraded to vista ultimate x64 today since i wanted my zune software to work, and i beleive a printer driver for my printers would work on it

so ive been running my E8500 at 3.8GHz for a while in xp with no problems at all, nothing. i install steam after installing vista, BSOD. first bsod ive gotten in a long long time.

vista really is crap. i want xp back :(

now i need to see if i can find a way to clock back up without bsod on this pos. i mean really WTF

it also didnt recognize my 260GTX, said it had 8mb of memory, and was some 2 cent pos nvidia card.

Just get a Vista theme for XP, it is the same thing but better.

Wtf? Why would you "downgrade" to Vista for the Zune software to work? Zune's been supported by XP, from the start.

Vista is not that bad, unless you're on the x64 version which many programs are still being patched to work on x64

Unfortunately i am on the x64 version.

zune doesnt work with xp x64, it will work with vista x64, or so it says. the rotten bastards, ive always known vista sucks, but this is just crazy, blue screens when xp ran completly stable at that speed. and if xp can recognize my 260 right away, vista should too. gah, stupid os.

its the "perfect operating system", if you get my drift.

Resource hog, slow, changed everything that was fine and nothing that needed fixing, bad hardware compatibility even with new hardware, lack of any decent driver backwards compatibility, hell WinE running on Linux runs more Windows programs than Vista. How about you tell me what advantages Vista has over XP? Vista reminds me an awful lot like ME, or even XP when it was first released. Until they do some major overhauling, there's zero reason to upgrade.

Vista has DirectX 10. Vista has many advantages. The whole of the TCP/IP mask was rewriten and communications are faster. It also looks much better than XP and is safer. Another advantage is that microsoft wants you to use Windows Vista and not XP, so updates and security issues will be addressed first in vista and then on XP. Internal search, bitlocker drive encryption, flip 3d/aero interface, parental controls, integrated image software, multilanguage user interface. Im not saying its better then XP, but I suggest you get used to it, and learn to make it work, because Windows 7 wont be
