So here's what I have in mind.
![]() -------- Case: Antec Performance One Series P190 +1200 DX ATX MT. CPU: AMD Phenom X3 Triple-Core Processor 8450. Mobo: Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe Motherboard. Card: ATI Radeon HD 3650/ PCIE 2.0/ 512MB DDR2/ DVI & HDMI. Disc: LG 22X DVD RW +- Dual Layer. PSU: (See below.) -------- $811 CAN + approx. $50 shipping and free fans/wires/installation for/of the above components. The RAM (XMS DDR2 800Mhz) and HDDs (x2 750GB Seagate) were salvaged from my old PC, and the PSU (x2 500W Antec Tandum PSU's) is included with the case. I want this computer to be cheap, hold me over until the Deneb CPU's come out from AMD, get me gaming at reasonable frames for semi current games, and still be nice as a media computer for the living room once I move on to the Deneb system for my final gaming rig in the near future. I also plan on possibly using the motherboard/RAM/case from this computer in my next one, depending on what's nicer, compatible, and available (my reason for buying such an expensive case/mobo.) I may get another one of those ATI cards for Crossfire aswell, they're only $60 and supposedly perform great for that price. Onboard optical support is a must, since my stereo is optical. Video card must support HDMI since the television in the media center is a 1080P 52" LCD. Ideas? Last edited by Mookster : 10-09-2008 at 04:17 AM. |

Im sorry but I hate that case, someone brought it in before and I just think its hideous, not enough cooling.
But for that price its pretty good get the antec 900 case!

You brought a little mistake to my attention. The case that I thought this was, was actually this one; the P190 1200.
Six 120mm fans and one 200mm fan on the side, with the black steel finish that I liked about my old P180B. It's indeed very cold, and very quiet considering. The Antec 900 sounds like a generator when you're running performance parts, and it's a tad homely if you ask me. I like the Mobo tray too; keeps things looking clean and keeps your wires from insulating the heat from your parts. Check out this fgt's review. This'll bump the price up by nearly $150, but I think it's well worth it; it's about what I'd pay for a 1000 watt PSU anyway. |

just to clear up the sound issue:
i have an antec 900, and my bro has an antec p182. At one point they were about 20 feet away from each other, and trust me when i say they make exactly the same amount of noise, which is almost nothing. If you use the fans that they ship with (antec tricools) on the lowest setting, there is almost no audible fan noise at all without putting your ear about 6 inches from the case. The only thing that makes sound in my case is my 8800gt fan, same with my bro's. If i were to go passive cooling on the gpu, then honestly i think I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between on and off. that said, the 180/190 looks the better, while I'm guessing the 900/1200 cools better.

I know. This is a prep system for a Deneb core, remember. That processor has great performance for the price. Considering the overclocking potential of this system, it shouldn't make the 4870X2 a purchase in vain either. And yes, I have a 1080P 52'' LCD.
