Common Router Ports

If you cant host Starcraft games on Battle.net(game creators latency is too high), it means your router is blocking the neccessary ports in your router. Many programs, including Bittorrent clients require you to forward certain ports in order to connect.

Each router has a different interface, and different menus, but they all have a port forwarding option. To find step by step directions on how to open these ports on your own router please visit this forum, and use their search feature and find your router.

Here is a list of programs that require you to forward ports in your router in order for it to function properly. There are UDP and TCP ports, you have to enter the port numbers for them seperately.

Starcraft Ports:

TCP: 6112-6119,4000
UDP
: 6112-6119

Diablo II:

Allow port 4000 TCP out and in (hosting open games only)

Warcraft III:
Allow port 6112 TCP out and allow established sessions in
Allow port 6112 TCP in (hosting custom games)
Allow port 6113-6119 TCP out and in (hosting custom games if you've changed the default port in the Options/Gameplay screen)

If you are still having problems after you open up the required ports, try opening 116(TCP) and 118(TCP). I don't really know if these ports are required or not.
I have had people tell me that opening up those two ports have helped them connect to battle.net.

If you can't seem to find help for your router, post here. Please only post here if you have a problem that you cant fix.

And what exactly will opening ports do. Does it just solely eliminate the chance of running into a game that has a latency too high to join?

What if we can't access the router options page, because your dad put a pass on it and you don't know it?

I doubt your father set the password unless he knows a bit about computers.

Enter the password as admin, and leave the password area blank.

Nah, that doesn't work either. There must be some way to recover your password. I'm on a Belkin router - anyone know how?

hmmm i have done it to my computer but i cant do it to the others on my router y

Edit: more detailed, what i mean is i forwarded the port on one of my computer which is my computer in my room so now people can join my games, but when i did the same to my brothers computer which is on the same router and stuff it doesnt work for him

here is a link to the site that i followed: http://portforward.com/english/route.../Starcraft.htm scroll to the very bottom where it shows the virtual server. see how it says starcraft1 and starcarft2 i did all tht and put my ip adress in there for me and it works. now if i wanted it to work for my brothers computer what do i do? i have tried to add a starcraft3 and starcraft4 everything the same just changed his ip address but it still doesnt work... any suggestions?

Its a little more complicated when you are trying to play with 2 people on one router. Heres a link that explains it all out. VPN Server to play SC game with same router.
