Bittorrent + Nforce4 = crash crash restart?
1.) It's been a while since I've shown my face here. Sorry for that. My HDD esploded (that's right ESploded). I ended up going a little overboard and buying a whole new machine
4000+SD
Corsair 2X1024 xms3500llpro
Asus a8nsli premium
BFG 7800 oc.
Nothing GREAT but I would have to say not bad in my opinion. The reason I list is because it ties in with the problem I'm having. ( I think this setup is more than able to handle bittorrent - or I would hope so)
Bittorrent keeps crashing after running for about 20 minutes. After going through the crash around 3 times and trying to reload my BT client again my machine reboots all of the sudden. Now at the time I was using Azureus and with some investigation on Azureus' site. Azureus' wiki said that the nforce4 boards and Java do not get along. So, I tried another client. I went with bitcomet. I wasn't too happy with the workload JVM has anyway. Bitcomet ended up taking up more workload than Azureus and caused the same problem (crash crash crash restart) so I switched clients again to Bittornado (same thing) then finally plain ol' bittorrent (same problem again) On Linux, BT works just fine, on xp64bit Azureus works just fine (for 30 days anyway)
I find this to be really odd. I was just wondering if anyone else has the same or similar problems and what they have done to compromise. If they have a similar setup and it works just fine I would like to know what you did/what your setup is. If not and you are planning on buying an nforce board this is a warning to you. Also ATI's new graphics card/mobo came out and it supposedly gives the nvidia cards some competition (not blow it out of the water but it is a nice alternative) so you might as well get that or wait for socket M/F.
