Default Scan Sweep

I am trying to create a trigger that will scan sweep for the current player. I do not want the player to have an actual comstat. I've tried creating "scan sweeper" with and without properties and it does not work. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

just use map revealers put a map revealer for like player 12 and then when you want to have that place viewed give that map revealer to the player

Which would work unless he's trying to reveal a cloaked unit.

I need to be able to see cloaked units so i do need a scan sweep.

Scan sweep is an ability, like lockdown, or marine's bullets.

You can't make those things "appear". As Staredit only allows unit/trigger/terran editing.

you could download a advanced editor like SCMDraft 2 and give control of the building to a player have it cast scanner sweep then take control back of the building

I don't think you can do that. Just use an observer. I think that's what detectors are for. :P

I think using an observer would be so ghetto. In the game there is actually a scan sweeper unit. I need to figure out how to use that.

Either change the scan sweeper to something else, or use observers. If you've got hyper triggers, it'll be so fast the player won't even notice the observer come in and out, but still have vision "left over" from the observer.
