Scars On Broadway.

Album's out on the 29th. I prefer this to Serj Tankian's "Empty Walls."
Still though, I think Tankian's and Malakian's solo albums just seem like they're two halves of a "should be" whole.

Edit: Although, ****, I've got to give it to Malakian in terms of sheer talent. He's ****ing genius live.

Meh.
Daron's voice gets annoying really quickly. Musically, it may be better, though that's to be expected.

Overall though, from what I've heard, Serj's stuff is better. Guess we'll have to wait for the album to come out.

I do agree that both bands/albums sound incomplete.

Not for me, I quite like his voice. I'm really excited about this album. That universe song along is making my mouth water.

I was sick of Serj's album in a few days; not sure exactly why, it just seemed a tad repetitive and no where near as imaginative as System or SoB, for that matter. From what I've heard of Malakian's though, I'm thinking the retail won't be quite as good as live.

"Scars On Broadway — the new band led by System Of A Down guitarist Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan — have tapped Joel Schumacher, a feature director whose credits include "The Lost Boys", "Batman Forever", "Flatliners" and "St. Elmo's Fire", to helm its video for the song "World Long Gone". Don't be bitter.

Daron had an advantage in that he's clearly the 'musician' out of the two, and he had a System bandmate to help him. No excuses.

Serj is just more talented, which was made clear by his putting out a higher quality album.

I object. The cataclysmic failure in quality of Elect the Dead made SoaD fans lose faith and interest on such a large scale that it ruined SoB's chances of ever getting off their feet. Denial, bitches.

But yeah. I didn't think SoB would be as popular; it doesn't have a catchy sound for the mainstream ear. But, I must say, I liked it a hell of alot more than Elect the Dead. Songs like Universe are the reason I liked SoaD so much. It has more of a climatic quality.

And im not bitter im just stating the fact. For instance, a few days ago a friend of mine (who knows I love SOAD) asked me if I knew that Serj had put out a solo album. When I said yes, and also told her that Daron put one out aswell, she promptly responded "who?". If this instance doesn't prove my point right here, i dunno what will.
