Metallica's New Single, "The Day That Never Comes."

There's nothing worse, in terms of music, than expecting to be completely disappointed by a new release from a band you like. Especially when that expectation was correct, and that final glimmer of faith you had that maybe (just maybe) the band would pull together and make one last listenable hit, gets crushed.

However, it's ****ing great when you have little to no expectations and the old bastards come out with something half ass decent.

Ya, my local radio station played this a few days ago. I thought it was somewhere in between the black album and load in terms of quality. Still nothing to go goo-goo about, but it's more listenable than a lot of the other stuff I keep hearing on the radio. Definitely more listenable than load/reload/st.anger.

Many people stopped listening to music and started listening to names. That's called band fanatism and it's not good in an art perspective.

From my perspective, this track is barely listenable. Hopefully they'll get a grip on what made them such a success.

It's really not that bad of a track if you don't take the stance of an elitist asshat when listening to it. Sure it's pretty much a mainstream version of fade to black, but do you really expect them to go back to 80's trash?

Considering their "superstar" status, given them by people, I'd have some dignity to let the so called brand name "Metallica" fade to black and start a new project.
Building low-to-mid quality music on a good brand name doesn't do well for it now, does it?

It's like chewing one same piece of gum for like eternity.

i dont look forward to music, i listen to radio, and if i like somthing, i download everything from the artist, then delete the stuff i dont like. if the radio didnt repeat stuff so much itd be win.
