So, I am trying to use the above encryption tool to decrypt something. I do not understand how to use this at all. I downloaded the tool and there is an install file that has no extension, so I do not understand how to install the too to decrypt what I want to.
Does anyone understand how to use this tool to decrypt something? Here are the instructions and the text I wish to decrypt. I appreciate any help. If you do manage to decrypt the text, obvously it's weird ****. I'm doing this for the experience of learning more than the content. Quote:

I can only assume you are using Windows, and if that's the case, there is a guide for using GnuPG on a Windows based platform here. Make sure you downloaded the proper binary from the publisher's site, as well.

Thanks for the tip. I think this will take me a while, as I have no idea what any of this means.

First off, you didn't post an encrypted message... you posted someone's public key, which is clearly stated in the block of text itself: "-----BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK-----".
So, it would be quite humorous to me if you spent days trying to decrypt this. You are supposed to import this key into your keyring. Once you do that, you can send that person an encrypted message (whoever that public key belongs to). In order for people to send you an encrypted message, you first have to generate yourself a pair of keys (public and private) and send the people you wish to communicate with your public key. They import your public key into their keyring, and can send you encrypted messages. |
