Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Programming Help

In Visual Basic 6.0, I made a cheat program for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. I want to have it display text on the game screen so you can see the text that I want to put on it when your playing the game. How would I do this?

I dont see any Starcraft tutorials on that. Also, that fourm is messed up, theirs more tutorials on other pages, but it won't let you go to another page on that topic.

Check out the tutorial section for how it's done in SC. idk if its the same system though.

you could do it the ghetto way I did and make a form with a transparent background and have it overlay the screen :S

edit-yea form and it is bad to do, but being I did it in vb I'm lazy and didn't want to learn how to hook

You will need to hook into the rendering system (DirectX, OpenGL) and use the drawing functionality to get your text on the game's screen. Google "DirectX hooking" or "OpenGL hooks" for best results. EvilSinz's solution will only work if the game isn't full screen, and it's bad form. Also, keep in mind when he said "forum with a transparent background", he meant to say "form with a transparent background".

my suggestion to you is to learn a new programming language. trust me, i tried vb. i really did. but it sucked for game hacking and things like that.

vb is good for little projects and cheating on math homework. anything else you're gonna need something with some bawls.
