Just watched her speech, I don't think it was McCain's worst VP choice. The speech was really good.

He definitely made the right choice in picking a governor, seeing as all we have right now a senators with no executive experience, but i would have preferred a governor with experience, rather than someone as inexperienced as Obama. McCain's best fight was that of experience versus inexperience, and with Obama's pick of Joe Biden, he missed an opportunity to add even more experience to his ticket with someone like Romney. Frankly, I don't trust senators in the white house, but a governor with huge economic background would have been perfect.

In her acceptance speech she managed to mention the hurricaine and deride believers of climate change in the same sentence, hilarious. What an idiot.

She also said more than once, basically 'vote for McCain or else Al Qaida will come kill you in your sleep.' Wonderful fear mongering from the "hockey mom."

She did nothing to impress us or show she has any knowledge of the world outside of Alaska, especially since she bad-mouthed the former owners of Alaska (Russia) and she actually implied that Georgia has a free and democratic government (what are the republicans smoking?)

She has proven she is not ready even to be a PTA mom, let alone the VP to someone on death's door. My god, if we were actually stuck with her we'd be screwed.

How can they pick someone so inexperienced and yet attack Obama for a "lack of experience?"

When she attempted to make being the mayor of 9,000 people sound tougher than a community organizer in URBAN CHICAGO I almost died from a laughing fit. Is she ****ing serious?

Also she made a quite a show of describing the torture John McCain went through and then made a snide joke about the fact that Obama objects to how we're treating prisoners in Gunatanamo Bay and other places. I guess she didn't see the news that the Military Commissions Act, John McCain's signature legislation, got ruled unconstitutional.

Hypocrisy, lies and idiocy in every sentence she spoke.

Politics are hilarious, and you can nitpick all you want, but the fact is she made alot of people happy with her speech.
How does she show has no knowledge outside of Alaska? She was even clever enough to throw out some puns, and actually spoke like a normal human being, rather than another washington rat. Of course she badmouthed Russia, tensions between the US and Russia are arguably as high as they were in the mid 80s before the Soviet Unions collapse. Russia is but a puppet of Putin, its senate and "new leader" (Medvedev(sp?)) are all at his knees. They mock us by calling themselves a democracy when they've been going backwards to communism for years.
As for Georgia, it actually is a Democracy, though Sakasvili(sp?) took the position more or less in fear, he actually was elected. But that said, Georgia is still a US ally that has cooperated with NATO in years past, and is on its way to full fledged membership (Dicky was there this week reguarding NATO), which is the reason there is much US support to Georgia, and not just in the Repub party.
As for her experience, no, she doesn't have alot of it. I think McCain, despite being very experienced himself, eliminated a big argument he had on Obama by choosing her. She did however actually MAKE decisions as a Mayor and a Govenor.
Joe Biden is an ******* senator on the MPAA's payroll. I think he, by far was a worse choice for Obama than Palin was for McCain. Obama had ALOT of the youth vote according to some early polls (don't remember from where), and now knowing that Joe Biden is another ******* who doesnt understand computers that will be deterred. However Joe Biden brought something to the table, experience., which is why he was chosen. Sara Palin too, was a valid choice. McCain is a moderate/mild republican. Sara Palin is a hardcore conservative. To appeal to the more conservative members of the party they needed to choose someone with her ideology. On top of that, being a woman she apeals to the many Hillary fan women who want to see a woman in office.
EDIT: Lest we forget oil in Alaska.

She's a creationist and thinks creationism should be taught in school, she's against sex ed being taught in schools and is pro-abstinence (which is ironic seeing as her stupid 17-year-old daughter got knocked up five months ago), she's against abortion in ALL cases, even when rape and incest is involved, she thinks the founding fathers wrote the pledge, etc. So yeah, she's a stupid c*nt.

Aren't you quite the ostrich.

You have the nerve to call someone that you freely admit

elected democratically?! I guess you don't care about the massive amounts of voter fraud, rampant assassinations and military actions that have been the direct result of his and his associates' manipulations. Wow, I bet you think Robert Mugabe was elected democratically too.
Russia happens to be big, powerful and has nukes. So of course we should upset them by calling them bullies and dictators in defense of a country that HAS THE EXACT SAME CORRUPTION IF NOT WORSE?! Do you understand Realism at all? Maybe the suspension of rationality has something to do with a certain Georgian lobbyist in the McCain campaign.... you know, the HEAD of his campaign....
jesus christ.

Speaking of "Jesus Christ," here's Palin showing what a nutjob fundie she is. I call this, "Jesus, give us the pipeline and the holy oil and divine natural gas!" YouTube - The Sarah Palin Church Video Part One

I got news for you, she made the most inane and meaningless decisions as mayor of 9,000 people. There are bus drivers who make decisions that affect more people than that on a daily basis in big cities. So forgive me if I piss all over the idea that being mayor of Wasilla was in some way preparatory to being the VP or if McCain dies, which he will, the President!!!!!!!!
Also, as governor of one of the smallest states for less than 2 years, she has pretty much no experience from that, especially since Alaska has one of the shortest annual legislative and governing sessions annually in the country! The legislature in Alaska meets less than a couple months and the governor's office does virtually nothing the rest of the year.

As for oil, that's the last thing we need. We don't need more oil. What we need is to outlaw the new production of combustion engines immediately and then get rid of the stupid patents that oil companies have on alternate energy that have existed for 20-30+ years.

As for her woman appeal, like I said, it will backfire since women will see how brainless, backwards, fundamentalist, empty and inexperienced she is. They will see that McCain is using her both as a sex-toy and as something to make himself look politically correct (as weird as it sounds) and they will be disgusted by it.

I would rather have a tool of the MPAA in office as VP to a younger man who is healthy and will serve out his term than a crazy woman with no experience who will have to learn how to be president the second that McCain dies in office.

If I were McCain's wife I'd be worried. Remember, McCain cheated on and then divorced his crippled, previous wife with his current one, and Palin is a few years younger than that blonde botox-user who looks like a mumified cyborg after all those plastic surgeries.

I wouldn't be. Cindy McCain is filthy rich, and would own old Johnny boy harder than a child molester in Riker's Island if he chose to cheat/divorce. McCain was well off prior to marrying her, but the vast majority of his current wealth comes from his ball and chain's allowances.
