Default The US should be looking at Sweden's solution to their mortgage crisis.

International Herald Tribune
A lot of people may not realize it, but Sweden went through the same situation we did over 10 years ago. It was even caused by the same thing (too much financial deregulation led to a housing bubble that popped and killed their economy). Huge deregulation in the financial sector has always been a bad thing, the goons in the financial arena are all about money and they will take advantage of anything they can to get ahead. Anyways, I really agree more with the Swede's solution than our current 'lets just bail them out without getting any equity back' idea. We really should demand equity in return along with the bailout instead of them just getting to sell off their ****tiest assets. The banks shouldn't be flat out rewarded for causing this situation.

I'm still horribly appalled by this plan and if this is passed by Congress, I do believe many people in office will lose their position in the next election.

Most people, when they see a high ranking politician act stupid, think they are stupid. It fills me with anger because they are ****ing wicked. This is a completely natural response to someone trying to destroy your future.

Something similar will be passed by Thursday. I happened to have a 2 hour chat with my congressman today, while out applying for a job. He agrees it shouldn't happen, but still people this is no reason to panic. I believe sinz mentioned this was done before, and hes right. Although he said the great depression, well lets think closer. More immediately effective upon us, would of been Black Monday(great depression 2) in 1987. Markets dropped 22%, compared to this weeks 7%. The government did step in then, and we're still paying for it. Check out some of the suggestions I recommend, in the other thread similar to this.

My mom said she will not be voting for any incumbents next election, because of this whole thing.
