BWHacks does not support the illegal distribution of software. As we cannot confirm whether our users own legitimate copies of Starcraft or Brood War, we do not support no-CD cracks in any way.

This means that no questions regarding no-CD cracks are tolerated, and no form of a no-CD crack may be posted. Please read our forum rules for further clarification.

But no-cd loader is far not enough to play online (cd-key), and those who want to play offline can find thousands of cracked versions, they dont need fresh patch. But I agree with the opinion about stupid "hello anyone knows a good nocd..." topics.

Anyway is there a legal difference between loader and crack?

Distributing a patched EXE is distributing someone's copyrighted intellectual property, and it's possible BWH could get sued over such things.

But what about loaders, or crack programs that simply modify other binaries? Is there a site to read about the legal background of softwares without loosing myself in a bunch of unrelated text?
