No CD Hack anywhere?

Alright, so me and my buddy are wanting to play some starcraft. I own two copies of SC and one of BW. Obviously we want to play BW. But the problem is, the moment either of us take the disc out, the game shuts down. Is there anyway I can download something that will allow me to either boot up the game without the disc entirely (like WC3), or something that will allow me to boot it up, and then play it without??

I run a Windows Vista (as does he)
We both have a seperate CD key for the games and they are both legit.

Wow seriously? Just burn the disc using nero or another copy program, then you can play it.

Or just make an account on Blizzard, I think that might work, if not... buy it online.

SC like WC3 is playable without the disc. The newest patches allow it so. Im pretty sure the setup is similar as well.

You scream lame leech to me, but there is a way if your key is legit.

1. Enter battle.net, patch to latest
2. Explore your BW cd and find "INSTALL.EXE"
3. Highlight it, press CTRL + C as many times as you feel like (n > 1)
4. Explore your local drive (usually C) and find your \Starcraft\ directory.
5. Copy pasta into it (CTRL + V)
6. Rename the "INSTALL.EXE" inside your \Starcraft\ directory to "BroodWar.mpq" (be sure to have file extensions enabled)
7. You're done.

Although Blizzard made such techniques pointless by allowing their software to be used without the CD, for reference purposes I had a fair amount of success creating No-CD hacks prior to the patch where the functionality changed by disabling the CD checks. They were implemented using the GetLogicalDriveStringsA and GetDriveTypeA Windows API's.

Also for future reference, unless I am mistaken, I believe that No-CD hacks are still a taboo topic here regardless of the functionality change.

I used to just copy the disk to a folder and run install from there to install the game, and from then on it acted as that folder was the disk. I think I might have edited the dir in the regestry tho..can't remember.

I seem to remember doing some registry changes for SC at one point aswell. And then there's mounting.

Even though Blizzard allows no-cd functionality, we do not support warez here. You should all know that.
