Capitalization of the hacking community is one of the worst aspects of this new age we all live in. If noone released a public hack for SCBW I would either learn how to code them myself, or quit hacking and rely on my (godlike) skills alone.

I think BWH will stick around even into the release of SC2- For one thing, many people will not switch over immediately due to system upgrade costs. And the community here is not solely based on hacking, but really more of SCBW (counter)culture, which will definitely extend into SC2, SC3 and beyond.

Granted, the programmers on staff are for the most part brilliant. Now I have brown on my nose.

If you took a poll of the users you would know that most of us come here for the community, Not for the starcraft and BWH has never been entirely about BroodWar if it was there would not be a war3/d2/graphics section.

I Think it will do fine, people go to where they can fine TRUSTWORTHY hacks... Only reason i'm part of BWhacks is because long ago I dled a random hack and it had a link to GT and from there I found my way here

Why would the site die when SC2 comes out? Right now everyone knows that bhwacks is the place to go for sc hacks, don't you think they would be checking here first when sc2 comes out?

We have a pre built community just sitting here, only difference is instead of the programmers making hacks for sc they would be making them for sc2.

Whatever this site's problems, we really don't have much competition to speak of. Most existing hacks for BW are basically recycled material from our (in some cases defunct) members. Unless some new agglomeration forms rapidly after the release of SC2, I don't see BWH being unseated.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be returning to my state of near-perpetual lethargy.

The site will live, as most of the people here do not actively play SC. If anything, the site will expand as new/more people come looking for SC2 hacks. The site name should stay the same, as it is established.

For the first couple of months after the release, Blizzard will be keeping up with the hacking, and releasing new patches frequently. But eventually they will slow down, as the hackers here keep finding new ingenious ways to make the game more enjoyable.

BWHACKS FTW
