Anyone have any requests in learning how to start successful websites? I'm no pro or anything, but I sure do know more than most of you. Request anything, and I'll try to help (SEO, forums, hosts, ads, etc.).

I need a VBulletin forum, without Paying. An IM to me on AIM would be more appropriate though...

You're not on AIM at the moment, so I can't help you out... However, I highly suggest not using a cracked version of vB. Like KDS stated, it WILL be shut down if it is big. There are great vB alternatives, but the most popular free are SMF and MyBB. I woudn't suggest PHPBB for noobs, cause they seemed to get hacked every friggen day. (I'm not sure about 2.0 though...)

i have a question... if i have my own server do i need to purchase my own domain.. or could i somehow make my own and if i cant do you know any free webhosting sites?

Er, if you have enough money to have your own server (unless its run at home), you probably have enough money to purchase a domain. On your server, you'll need a DNS server, web server (Apache), PHP, MySQL, etc. for basic needs. Most of them come with control panels like cPanel and Plesk though, so it really dpends on your host. Once you get your server set up, you'll need to set up your name servers and have your domain registrar to register your nameserver with your server IP's.

I used to know a lot of good free webhosts, but I haven't been on freehosting in years, so I hardly remember anything about it.

well i have a server that i built along with some friends but i dont have any money to buy a domain....

You can't just make a domain. You honestly can't conjure up 10 dollars among you and your friends?
