I'd actually like to start a technology how-to blog but uhhh... I think I'm a little late into the action. =p
In the end however, maybe this wasn't such a good idea. And even though what YourMother just said is some deep advice, I think part of it is being able to know when your outdone and it isn't working, and then being able to reevaluate. In this case, reevaluating means realizing that referral based schemes are a lot harder than they seem and that trying to complete them in a way that everyone is already doing isn't the way to go. Especially since while I know a lot of web design and coding, it won't get me anywhere against the smart SEO years of experience webmasters. I haven't given up yet. But I'm sure in a couple of weeks this'll just seem like another one of those silly plans that I had.

Thanks YourMother. I think we all learned a very important lesson here today.
EDIT: Actually, ![]() My web statistics show that # of people coming from Google Search is slowly raising above the people referred from here. Maybe it's a little too soon to give up completely. I'm going to register on those sites you posted earlier.

My recommendations for the next step: Make some back-links. Important: Backlink Title "Get a free iPod Touch" (or something similar; it has to but short and must contains the words free iPod Touch. Change this link title, and description every time a little bit. Don't copy and paste or google thinks someone is spamming a link. Make some backlinks at the social bookmark services (with nofollow) from my post, in web-catalogs, boards and guestbooks. Tip: learn from the best. Search google for some random keywords (e.g. cell phone, rent cars, printer ink, starcraft hacks ...). Look at the first search results and see where they get their backlinks from. Example: #2 google results for "printer ink" is www.clickinks.com go to AltaVista and search for "link:www.clickinks.com". Look where the backlinks to this site are coming from and post there also your site. AltaVista Search: link:www.clickinks.com

It seems to me that Vash had no intention of following any advice unless it affirmed that he was indeed in the right direction, yet simply needed a new angle. Kind of makes the whole thing seem stupid.
At any rate, the best and most reliable way to get traffic without a good idea or people is to find someone with a sizeable bot network to "produce" traffic. |

I don't really understand what you mean, as I understood that my website wasn't doing well which is why I posted in the first place. I laughed when I read this. More specifically though, I need targeted traffic willing to read my site and do an offer.

There really is no way to filter out sophisticated enough bots. As for your own bot network, I would suggest making your own bot, have it embed itself at run-time into a random program that runs at startup (ideally one which has firewall privileges), and then distribute the bot disqguised as some other software over several p2p networks. It needs to be able to automatically send identifying iniformation to a server hub as part of a roll-call system, then the server can issue commands to either the whole group, or to individual networks that you have 'siezed'. Through this manner, you could even remotely access a browser on a vulnerable enough network, making doing whatever registration processes are required a rather simple task. Of course, noone here short of myself or a staff member would really be up to performing such an arduous project, if not more so for someone else. You have to consider that such a job will require intimate knowledge of the theory and practice of writing stealth worms and virii, as well as Windows' most low-level operations - things that haven't been considered required knowledge for ten or more years.

I thought that. So probably the "legal" way - content, seo, traffic - it's the easier one.
btw: I have another idea. All what you need are different IPs, don't allow cookies and a simple tool/macro that is clicking your google ads. Ever heard of JAP or TOR? This are some kind of free proxy-based anonymization services. They mix up the different IPs of the users. So every time you click on something you have another IP. JAP -- ANONYMITY & PRIVACY Tor: anonymity online ![]()
