America going into Recession?

Anyone think that the whole controversy on whether we are heading towards a recession is hurting ad revenues at all? November '07, I made $1.6K. This month, I roughly made $500.

I think we're heading towards a recession defenitely. People are plauged by the high prices of food and gas, this means they're cutting back on other spending and saving some money. It's a circle that gets worse and worse as people spend less money others make less and have to be more conservative (which is making the problem even worse). Also these idiotic stimulus packages don't seem to be helping since almost no one spends the money they get it usually goes into bank accounts and bills, nothing to stimulate the economy. Both of my parents seem to be trying to cutt back on spending and my sister is always complaining about having to spend almost everything she makes on gas. However I don't think this is inevitable we could still turn the economy around before it's to late with the right moves, but I doubt that will happen.

No, no. We aren't heading towards a recession, that's what the media says. We are IN a recession.

By the definition of a recession we are not. We wont know definitively until like june or july when the figures come out, but its a pretty well known fact among the economists that overall negative growth can be expected to last until the summers end. After that is too far to make any kind of reasonable estimation.
